August Monthly News

Important Update

Dear Members,

Grass Growth

We are currently experiencing a purge in growth and with heavy dews in the morning which is making mowing difficult. Consequently, when mowing it is a bit messy, however, we need to keep mowing as the semi-ruff is growing an inch a day.

I am sure for those who still have real grass at home have also noticed how fast it is growing.

We are mowing morning, noon, and night and ask for your patience during this time.

4th Button Hole

The left-hand green side is now in play, apart from the bunker which we hope to get in play, in the next few weeks.

Thanks, Derek

Charity Days at Cottrell Resort

Yesterday, our very own “Devils Crew” took on the “Sneaky Bandits” for a Charity Match on the Button Gwinnett Course.

Victory was swiped by the ‘Devil’s Crew’!

It was great to see so many of our members enjoying themselves on the course and in the clubhouse following their match, where over £4400 was raised for charity

Captains Day 2023!

Captains Kenny Barrett, Rowena McArtney, and Huw Morgan held an extremely successful Captain’s Day on Saturday 19th August, with over 170 members taking part on the Mackintosh Course.

Our Halfway house is fast becoming “The Talk of South Wales” as players were once again greeted with a BBQ, cooked by our Captains and Vice Captains.
An incredible £700 was raised on the day for this year’s Captain’s Charities City Hospice, Tŷ Hafan, and Guide Dogs UK.

Well done to all the players and volunteers and thank you to all who donated!

Glamorgan Farmers Day

We hosted the Farmers, on their Captains Day on the Mackintosh Course.

A great day was held for Captain Tim Jarvis, as he celebrated another successful years with the farmers.
