IMPORTANT UPDATE
29th July 2023
Dear All,
We hope that you are all enjoying the busy golfing season and please see below a few updates for this month:
Weather:
The heatwave came to an end and now we have inclement weather. After the heatwave, the courses have recovered very well. We did make the decision of prioritising watering the greens over the tees to ensure we had enough supply of water and now the tees are recovering nicely.
The feedback has again been very encouraging, and we thank you.
Kitchen/Restaurant:
As we continue with our Resident Chef, Jamie and appreciate his time and effort, he has booked a well-deserved break during August.
During this period (Monday 14th – 31st August) in Jamie’s absence, we will be offering a limited menu in the bar/restaurant starting from 12 noon, with any pre-arranged functions and golf days that include food being covered by the Chef, Spiro, whom we all know well and thank for his services during this time. We please ask for your patience whilst the limited menu is being operated.
Course Etiquette:
Due to the weather, the greens are now taking pitch marks and all we ask again is for you to repair at least one every time you are on the green, even if it’s not your own.
RAKES: There are rakes in every bunker, so please can we all use them to help others when landing in bunkers. Then leave the rake inside the bunker when finished.
Hole Hopping:
Hole hopping is not permitted, period. For example, 5th to 15th Button. Please have respect for the other golfers and start at 1st tee and moving around in succession.
Buggies:
The new buggy compound has now been given a new access area with steps next to the Clubhouse entrance, making it easier to walk and collect the buggies.
The buggies have all be given a designated number and parking bay, if you can all keep to the number buggy when issued with the corresponding key, and park into the correct area on returning the buggy. Please give in all buggy keys to the pro/shop or bar when re-parked.
Rearranged Captains Day 19th August:
May the sun keep shining for Captains Day as there are over 160 golfers. Best wishes to Captain Ken Barrett and Captain Rowena McCartney for the remainder of the year.
Regards
Derek |
