Important Update – 17th January 2023

Golf Courses

Since the New Year, we have experienced long spells of inclement weather, which in turn has meant we have had no choice but to close the Courses. We are not alone as many of the Courses in the area have also been closed.

The benefit of the closures means they have had a good rest and are looking ready for the upcoming season.

We were initially going to close the Mackintosh for February; however, we have now decided to keep both Courses fully open.

I am pleased to say the greens are in a good strong condition as we approach the season, no disease, and a healthy sward of grass.

News on the island green, is we still await planning permission and if we don’t receive it very soon the works will be put back to October as we needed that window before the season to carry out the works.

Whilst we are still in the winter months, we ask all Members to adhere to the winter regulations:

Winter wheels on all trolleys.

Spikes on shoes to avoid slipping on the courses.

Respect the roped off areas.

Clubhouse

As of this weekend, we will be introducing our new Merrick’s Bar menu and we will be open again for food 7 days a week.  We are currently still operating on the winter opening/closing times and these times are available to view on our website and on the App noticeboard.

We are all looking forward to a good season ahead.
