IMPORTANT UPDATE
Wednesday 31st August 202

Dear Members,

Solar Panels

Cottrell Park has invested around 100K in solar panels which have been installed at the rear of the old driving range. The panels supply most of our electrical needs during the day and assist in reducing our utility charges in these difficult times. It shows our commitment to go green and so far, and we have saved 2,500 KG of C02 emissions which is the equivalent of planting 125 trees!

As you may have noticed, we a no longer allow anyone to use this area for any reason, golf practice is prohibited to protect the new solar panels. The simulators however remain open for bookings for golf practice.

New Greens Machines

We have just taken delivery of one of two new greens mowing machines (the second machine is due imminently) which is a further investment of over 100K. These machines have no hydraulics to the cutting units so no more oil leaks on the greens!

Feedback

We would like to thank all of you for the wonderful feedback that we have received over the condition of our excellent greens, this season especially, through a difficult summer of drought.

As a Club we are having a great season and super to see all golfing sections flourishing and competitions thriving and generally everyone enjoying their golf.

Only a couple of moans and I’m sure you will agree and support me when I say, PLEASE rake bunkers after use and repair your pitch marks!

End of season

We have a full schedule of works planned for the low season starting Mid-October and I will inform you of these plans in the next update, in the meantime please carry on enjoying your golf.

Derek
