Important Update – 12th July 2022

Heat Wave:

On one hand lovely to see fantastic weather however, we all need to be mindful of this heat.

Please always ensure that you have drinks with you as we cannot always guarantee course marshal on duty.

The forecast predicts it’s here until at least next week which is putting pressure on watering the courses. All our ponds/lakes are becoming low as I can report, that since late March we have only had 5 full days of rain.

We are now introducing mains water to top up supplies, focusing on greens and trying whenever possible using limited water to irrigate tees.

The greens remain strong, however, not at lightning speed as again we do not wish to put them under stress.

The bottom line is still great to see this weather!

New halfway house:

We have now moved and reconstructed the hut from the car park to the 10th Mack. For now, it will remain an empty shell with no electric or water however usable for days such as Opens, Corporate days and other functions.

Captains Day:

This weekend we look forward to Captains Day where Jon Earley (Captain) and Judith Jessop (Lady Captain) will be hosting the day at the halfway house, applying their culinary skills offering burgers & hot dogs off the BBQ.

Stay cool and enjoy the weather and golf

Derek
