Weekly golf course update: Friday 24th April
At Cottrell Park, we believe it is important to keep all our members & guests in the loop. We are at a time we need to stick together, be safe and be positive.
General Manager, Derek Smith:
We continue to thank NHS, care workers, supporting staff, cleaners, emergency services and volunteers – brilliant work.
Efforts to try and re-open
This last week, I wrote to the First Minister and his cabinet asking them to consider allowing us to reopen. I constructed a risk assessment that demonstrates new measurements of social distancing, control and can be implemented for the safe operation of golf.
I will not go into detail at this point; however, it is golf only and for members. Hopefully I will receive a reply and inform you immediately.
Booking Tee Times
Please be advised in the event of reopening, and as part of the risk assessment to reduce contact, we request all members to pre-book their tee times online.
In advance of opening, if any members have not had their registration details to book online via our website, please email firstname.lastname@example.org. We will send you a login to enable you to do so. We will then endeavour to respond to you within the week.
Jobs done on the courses:
- Continual mowing – courses looking great
- Greens were top dressed and fertilised
- New 150 yd marker posts installed
- Bunker refurbishment
- Watering of greens & tees
- New tree plantation areas defined
I will continue to update weekly and, in the meantime, please stay safe and keep well.
